MULTIPLE BRACHIAL PLEXUS SCHWANNOMAS - A RARE CASE

Background: Schwannoma is a benign encapsulated nerve sheath tumour that arises from the Schwann cells along course of and can affect third to 12th cranial nerves, peripheral autonomic nerves. was first described by Verocay in 1908. rarely affects brachial plexus, accounting for 5% all cases schwannoma. Case: 38year old female patient presented with left axillary mass noticed since 1 year. The slowly increasing size painful associated tingling numbness over medial aspect arm, forearm hand. MRI Suggestive multiple, well defined, round oval altered signal intensity lesions noted infraclavicular region axilla upper arm on side neurovascular bundles. On exploration plexus through approach , total 11 tumours dissected territory cutaneous intercostobrachial arm. Histopathology report suggestive schwannoma no evidence malignancy. Conclusion: SchwannomaÂ’s around neck are uncommon arising nerves should be considered as one differential while evaluation.
